From Loss, Sisters-in-laws Create Women’s Expo
to Benefit
Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan
DEARBORN, Mich – The annual Dearborn Women’s Expo at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn coming on Sunday, March 9th, 2008
has a special meaning for the Dearborn women who created the event. Now in its fifth year, Expo raises funds for Children’s
Leukemia Foundation of Michigan (CLF) and is dedicated to the memory of Brittany Crawford
who was a student at Dearborn High when she lost her battle with leukemia in 2002. The event creators, Janeen and Julie Sullivan,
are sisters-in-laws and the mother and aunt of Brittany, who together organize an event that attracts 100 exhibitors and 1,500
attendees.
According to Janeen Sullivan, the Expo was created by their family as a way to help other teens who
are battling leukemia and to give back to an organization that supported Brittany and their family through the tough times,
when they needed it the most. Last year, the show netted $5,000 for CLF.
With 100 unique exhibits ranging from health and beauty to home improvement, accessories and meal preparation,
silent auction items, raffles and a wedding and prom fashion show, the event promises something for every age and interest.
Bringing your old cell phones and used ink cartridges will also support their fundraising
efforts for CLF. Admission is $3 and children under age 12 are admitted free. For information about the Expo or to become
