From Loss, Sisters-in-laws Hold Women’s Expo to
Benefit Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan

The 9th Annual Dearborn Women's Expo at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn is coming on Sunday, March 4th, 2012 has a special meaning for the Dearborn women who created the event. Now in its 9th year, the Expo raises funds for Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan (CLF www.leukemiamichigan.org) and is dedicated to the memory of Brittany Crawford who was a student at Dearborn High when she lost her battle with leukemia in December 2002. The event creators, Janeen and Julie Sullivan, are sisters-in-laws and the mother and aunt of Brittany, who together organize an event that attracts 100+ exhibitors and over2,500 attendees.

According to Julie Sullivan, the Expo was created by their familyas a way for women to come out, have some fun, enjoy some pampering and see avariety of local business services and products. Attendees can come out for some retail therapy and help a great cause! The Expo was also created to raise funds to help other teens who are battling leukemia and to give back to an organization that supported Brittany and their family through the tough times,when they needed it the most. 

With 100+ unique exhibits ranging from health and beauty to home improvement, accessories and meal preparation, silent auction items, raffles,Fashion Show, ZUMBA fitness sessions for all levels, and a wedding and prom fashion show by OneStop Wedding Shop, the event promises something for every age and interest.

Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan is an independent, statewide organization that provides information, financial assistance, and emotional support to adults and children affected by leukemia, lymphoma, and related blood disorders.
